SUMMER SERIES FIELD TRIP #3- Blainville, Quebec
July 29 @ 08:00 - 12:00
For this Saturday’s Summer Series Field Trip we’ll be visiting a brand new location that we have never visited before. We will be heading to Blainville, Quebec, to a site known as Lacs Fauvel & boisé. The site is centred on two large abandoned gravel pits that over the years have become two large lakes.
With the collaboration of two birding clubs in the region, (CORDEM and COMIR), and the city of Blainville, a viewing platform has been installed and trails have been marked. The site offers a combination of wetlands, mixed wooded areas and open spaces. 145 species of birds have been recorded on e-Bird from this site since January 2016.
