Since its founding in 1917, Bird Protection Quebec has been active in bird protection and advocacy. In addition to managing and maintaining several bird sanctuaries, the Society sponsors numerous bird-related education and scientific research programs. The Society also purchases land for bird sanctuaries, often in cooperation with other conservation organizations. We fund our work through annual membership subscriptions and regular donations.
The largest donations to Bird Protection Quebec have been in the form of planned gifts. Alfred F. Kelly, notably, left a significant portion of his estate (including his Piedmont property) to Bird Protection Quebec. You can read more about the Alfred F. Kelly Legacy and the Nature Reserve named in his honor here.
There are many ways you can plan a gift to Bird Protection Quebec, including:
- Leaving a gift in your will;
- Donating securities such as stocks, bonds or shares in mutual funds;
- Making a gift of life insurance;
- Make a charitable gift with an annuity to provide you with a lifetime stream of annual income.
In addition to supporting the important work of Bird Protection Quebec, each type of planned gift offers attractive tax benefits. With this in mind, we encourage you to consult a professional financial planner to ensure that your financial goals are considered, your tax situation is reviewed and your planned gift is tailored to best fit your requirements. We would be very pleased to collaborate with you to define your legacy gift in a way that supports the mission of Bird Protection Quebec as you wish.
The Society also welcomes donations of appropriate land for sanctuary use.
